Goody two-shoes!....(snorked my tea!!...)
Stress-free...sure...you're kinda cute....I hope you are like having a high end steak as I am used to having a diet of filet mignon...ya know what I mean? ;)

Pondering....what's wrong with being a goody two-shoes?
There are openly skanky women that could be awful in bed...but if I make a derogatory reference to them then the whole tribe of amazons descends on me....political correctness, ya know.
If someone sneers at someone who is ...uh...goody two shoes...it's ...uh...okay. Open season her...shoot her down....
(Pondering again...reverse hypocrisy??)

Then the Buddists groupies and other zen-type religious fanatics have to re-look at their sexual ethics because...well....those religions embody clean and pure living.....

Or...is it a matter of when a woman gets horny? Then all reasoning can go out the door...right?

Hypocrites....ach! Can't stand them....
If one wants to have a certain standard of ethics....it's up to them and their individual choice....right????....

Maybe it meant a different thing where you grew up, but when I was a kid the people considered "goody two-shoes" weren't "good people doing the right thing." They were people who put on a front of being "good" for those in authority or those who would reward them. They were actually quite awful. They didn't tattle for moral reasons, they just liked seeing others get in trouble and get punished. You could see sadistic joy on their faces when it happened (after the teacher's back was turned, of course). An extreme version would be the little girl in The Bad Seed. Only her victims and a few others who caught her when the mask slipped knew she was horrible. Everybody else thought she was a little darling. That's what's wrong with being a goody two-shoes.

^^^^^^^well....I guess that is what you learned....not what I learned.....sad...^^^^^^^^^^

What I have discovered is that when many people live a life that is quite good in many ways...working hard....abundancy is there....and have a decent moral code with ethics and integrity thrown in the pot, there are some who resent it.
They figure that they can "paint" the general paintbrush of what you have described in your post on them and then that gives them the validation/excuse to hate them and then terrorize them.
Shall I give you my story on what happened to my daughter when she fell victim to that general paintbrush, madam?
It is not anything that you would like to have visited on to you and yours.

I do not even live my life according to your paintbrush.

There is room in this world/universe for all sorts...including "goody two-shoes"....
We do give room in this world to the "bad-asses" who hurt, don't we? They have be "understood", don't they???
Isn't it PC to do so?

I also hope that Stress-free does not subscribe to your description of goody two shoes when he called my image that. If he did, then I will have to have a chat with the boy!!! ;)

You misunderstood my post. The people who were considered "goody two-shoes" WEREN'T good people, they were bad people. Fakes. Hypocrites. Genuinely good people are a different breed altogether, just as are out-and-out bad people. Of course, I realize the expression might mean something different in different regions, so I'll assume it must be that it was used against genuinely good people where you grew up. And to be honest, in retrospect from an adult perspective, those people seem more deranged than truely bad and should be viewed with pity.

My understanding of a 'goody two shoes', is someone who is maybe a little more right and proper, in their behaviour than most and could be equally described as conventional, conservative, straight-laced, prim and proper or serious. It can be construed as 'too good to be true' or boringly predictable, and virtuous. I doubt any offence was meant...

There you go. This confirms that some expressions mean different things to different people.

I just looked it up on Wiki to see if I had got the wrong end of the stick.

"The History of Little Goody Two-Shoes is a little children's story by an anonymous author, published in London in 1765. The story popularized the phrase "goody two-shoes", often used to describe an excessively or annoyingly virtuous person. In more recent years, the phrase has developed a more negative connotation, implying that the virtuousness of a "goody two-shoes" is insincere."

You can make a lot of money out of subs as well as getting your house cleaned/done up etc.

Need the right ones though but that shouldn't be too hard.

I tend to attract mostly celebrities wanting to "slum it" for a night.

Works for me.
