POFUsers.com is a community setup by people who post on PlentyOfFish.com. We felt the rules on their forums were too strict so we created POFUsers.com

Aswell as posting on here we also meet in the chatroom daily from 8pm for light hearted chat / banter. POFUsers.com is an independant website and has no connection to Plenty Of Fish or the owner of Plenty Of Fish.

FORUM POSTING RULES

Rule 1)Privacy
Do not post sensitive information: i.e. Phone numbers and home addresses.

Rule 2) Conduct
No insults or slanderous libel. Be nice to each other. We reserve the right to edit abusive insults out of your posts. Do not post any content about another user that could be considered untrue, slanderous libel or defamation of character.

Rule 3)Trolling
No trouble making, people who persistently try to cause arguments by means of trolling will be contacted by a moderator.

If you are consistently breaking the rules a moderator will contact you before any sanctions are issued. As per the terms of service it is your responsibility to keep within the law.

Please note negative threads / posts about the site will be removed.

I need to report someone on this website

If you feel that a user of POFUsers.com has violated any law, be it the laws that govern the United Kingdom, Spain, International laws or the laws of the users country then the official procedure for reporting this is to send a private message to LadyGodiva or admin. Alternatively please click on the report button next to the offending post.

All other reporting methods are deemed insufficient.

Someone is using my POF username on here

Please register a temporary username. The admin will then verify if the request is authentic, remove the rogue user and reassign the "stolen" username to you.

- What if I don't want to be a pofusers.com member, can I just have my username blocked instead?

yes. You will still need to register a temporary user name to PM admin, we will then remove the temporary user name once your request has been dealt with.

- Is my username legally defined as "personal details" and thus protected by law?

Usernames or nick names are not defined as personal details unless they match your real name on legal documentation such as passports, driving licenses or birth certificates. Users have no legal claim to their usernames and we only offer this service on a good will basis only and at our sole discretion.

My personal details have been posted on this site. how do I get them removed?

We have setup a filter that automatically removes real names and replaces them with [personal details removed]. To add your name to the filter please send admin a private message. Your name will then be automatically removed from all posts and private messages.

Why are some swear words censored?

Google penalises websites that contain profanity. Certain words are therefore censored for the sole purpose of keeping a good rank in Googles search engine. A good search engine rank is beneficial to the site as it brings in more users.

Chatroom Rules

Rule 1: What happens in chat, stays in chat.

Do not copy and paste peoples conversations on the forum.

Rule 2: No harrasment in the chatroom.

Admin will remove anyone who harrasses other users or disrupts the chatroom.

Is pofusers.com an anti pof / hate site?

No.

POFUsers.com started as a group of people from POF who wanted to create their own forum with less strict rules.

POFUsers.com is not connected to PlentyOfFish.com or its owner in any way. We are an independent entity.

Multiple Accounts

Multiple accounts are allowed on POFusers however the following rules apply:

Multiple accounts must not be used to strenghen a debate or disagreement, nor must they be used to disrupt a thread. To avoid any complications users are advised to only use one account per thread. Any form of trolling using multiple accounts is strictly prohibited.

No accounts must be used for the purpose of cyber bullying.

Advertising Rules:

Quite often people have legitimate reasons to posts links to websites and are accused of spamming, so I have changed the rules regarding spam. The new rules are as follows:

People are allowed to post website links and affiliate links in threads if it offers some relevance to the topic. Examples of this would be a link to an amazon shop selling shoes in a thread discussing shoes.

Do not start a thread with a link to your website, this is classed as spam and reiterates the first rule, you may only post a link if it is relevant to the topic of discussion.

The moderators are authorised to ban users who post unrelated affiliate links, an example of this would be a robot spammer posting a link to a viagra site in a discussion about shoes.

Signature links

Users are only allowed to have links in their signatures once they have more than 10 posts.

To be allowed to use affiliate links in your signature you must adhere to the following criteria

1) you must be human, no scripts or robots allowed
2) you must have more than 10 posts.
3) You must not link to questionable content, i.e. pórn sites. What considers content to be questionable is at the discretion of the moderators.
4) Do not promote a competing forum or a website linking to a competing forum.

Competing forums are other dating forums or generic chat forums. A forum about cars would not be considered a competitor however a generic "chat about anything" is considered a direct competitor.

You must NOT contact users by PM to advertise, this is classed as spam.

Spam by means of humans or bots is prohibited. any accounts who spam will have their hostname, computer name, mac address, ip adress, and ISP's local IP range banned. They will also be reported to their ISP and an internet disconnection request will be sent to their ISP's abuse department. Details of the incident will also be forwarded to any web hosting companies providing hosting for the website adertised.

Contact details of the spammer will be forwarded to blacklist.org, spamcop, abuse.net, remove spam and spam spade.
