If there’s a place in this world I don’t know it
That will harbor a talent less poet
One unskilled at rhyming
Has no sense of timing
And without the good sense to not show it
"When robbed of the shining armor of political, moral and philosophical theories by which it defends itself, power will fight on without armor; but it will be more vulnerable and the strength of its enemies is increased." (Reinhold Niebuhr)

to produce the hope of empathy
requires demolition at a base level
industrial jack-hammers
capable of reducing to dust
conceptions of us and them
long set in concrete

for far too easily are we the good
convinced of the essential evil
contained in they the bad
primitive tribal notions
of geographic commonality
wrapped in a blood soaked flag

emancipation from the perverse
curse of patriotism
that veils the inhumanity
willfully perpetrated against
nameless, faceless others
in a distant elsewhere

This was a poem in support of Revos, and all others hand-slapped by the poetry police.

First line borrowed from Unzippedpassion.

For intelligence shows in so many ways
sometimes in resentment of rules
youthful exuberance can run amok
full of energy but without the tools
to take limits as the gifts they can be
and enjoy the fun of the game
we all know Revos is a poet so wild
no thread untouched will remain.

first line borrowed from Naked Lunch:

being on time is too intense
running to keep up to the minute
the decades get jumbled, I sit on the fence
not sure if I'm out of or in it

the fashions they tumble forward and back
the wars are the same never ending
the poems blurted out in the white and the black
through the pen or electronically sending

the decades get jumbled, I sit on the fence
a fine place to view both the where and the whence
and the traditional value...a meagre two cents
for unsolicited opinions and uncommon good sense
seems poor compensation... a trfling expense
so proposed to the gathered... both ladies and gents
price support measures for wisdom dispensed

Some how I always manage to accidentally lose them trying to post or delete them exercising the air in my head.
Thats how I lose mine in a posting frenzy. I never write anything down so its my own fault.
Then I sulk myself into a cup of tea and go to sleep.

Me too! Many a wonderous and fanciful verse springs into my head at work, but I don't have time or opportunity to write them down so they get forgotten, then lost forever :(

Anyway, this little one just sprang out of a conversation with a much loved friend....

"They say that bouncing's best, you know?

Well, it sure beats walking to and fro!

So, up and down, and up and down,

The surest way to clear a frown!

Give it a try, be in good company,

Tigger's happy and so's Zebedee!"

Not an ocean for sure
But levitated by a north west wind
For sixty miles unobstructed
Motionless gulls suspend
Just beyond arms reach
Hovering above the spray
On this punished shore
As an arctic handled broom
Escorts out the longest
Recorded summer
One last epic sunset
Colors the mist
Of a foaming break wall
