And lamentful decisions
These I have in abundance
Fueling the fire of futility
Is the understanding that
None were thought to be so
At the moment of conception
"When robbed of the shining armor of political, moral and philosophical theories by which it defends itself, power will fight on without armor; but it will be more vulnerable and the strength of its enemies is increased." (Reinhold Niebuhr)

Fueling the fire of futility
rolled fake logs of second guesses
they'll burn a lifetime long
using all our energy to create
busy work with a big bright light
distracting and enchanting us
throw a real log on and let it burn
and when ashes are all that's left
take a deep breath and blow them away
clearing the pit for the next one.
"Ring the bells that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there is a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen

throw a real log on and let it burn
compassion is one thing until we learn
denial is useless, until we discern
to deny what we know is just useless

nothing does matter, we earn what we get
i can sleep thru the nightmares and still not fret
the truth makes my mind numb but i aint dead yet
grinding down the myth of abuses
All creeds and kinds and colors of us are blending, Till i suppose 10 million years from now we'll all be just alike. Same color, same size. Working together. And maybe we'll have all of the fascists out of the way by then. Maybe so. woody guthrie.

...thought of calling this one "emo slum girl" but i much prefer the title given to me by the authors above, borrowing a couple three words from the posts on this page

when ashes are the fire i can

i love the darkness
i look best in that light
it's kindness near blindness
i'll only see you at night

i prefer a vacuum
i sing best in that place
the croon's always in tune
i'll only serenade you in space

i need a crash scene
i paint best when in pain
the sad i've seen the hurt i've been
i'll only draw you in the rain

i have a broken heart
i feel best with a tear in my eye
love will start once we're apart
i won't want you till you've said good bye
Are we really happy here with this lonely game we play
Looking for words to say?...lost in a masquerade......George Benson

I love the darkness
Without that one sense of sight it allows the others to wake.
Hearing sharpens to the point where
an image can be drawn in one's mind, mapped out through memory and awareness.
The skin sparks up it's own echolocation system, feeling the air
Around it, the vibrations and temperature changes.
Smells bring stories and promises, tasting the moment
Without the sense of sight.

My apologies Swan, we posted at the same time. Skip me.

I won't want you, till you've said goodbye
and I won't ask you, why you cry,
I'll study my lines for every scene,
while I'm waiting in between,
there'll still be time to steal a kiss,
in pretense, one of bliss,
after all, we're actors of love,
upon this stage of life!
REALLY?? Get a Life!!

Not at all Manny. Your words are always welcomed.

And I won't ask you, why you cry,
I'll just hold you.
Let my love enfold you
And send calm thoughts of love your way
But I won't ask you why you cry.

And I won't ask you why you cry
I'll breathe deep
Eyes closed until you sleep
Ask to keep the dreams at bay
But I won't ask you why you cry

And I won't ask you why you cry
Because I know
Through pain we grow
It gives us the will to stay
So I don't ask you why you cry.
I know why.

I won't want you til you've said goodbye
because I'm content not telling the lie
to myself
of myself
cry forever on your shelf
you will never be
the one for me
so shut your stupid mouth

The one I love cannot be imagined
his skin will be burnt with the purest rays
I will taste of his salt for all of my days
and when the sun sets
on the back of our grand children
we will laugh at the day
when we were foolish in our ways
and did not appreciate
the love that can accumulate
over many years of torturous chatter
tell me why it should matter

whether or not you knew
I was the one meant for you
here i be
come and see
the only one so true
her entire life shut down
when she realized she couldn't have you
eliminate this unstable boundary
come to me
accept the dowry
of faith
love and understanding
I need you darling
can't save a thing
but I can make it
and refuse to waste it
chasing a dream
tell me what I've seen
every night
since the day
you went and swept
my heart away
in silence
you remain
but I'll love you
untilt he day
i die
so why
is this?
one more kiss
before the weather turns cold
I have decided not to use any signature at all... until I find one so revoltingly disgusting that it offends all who read.

before the weather turns cold
the sea beckons
a wave scatters at my feet
my soul feels old

before the weather turns cold
walk along the beach
sun's rays make the sand hot
warming my feet

forget-me-not
is this my lot?
memories of days gone past
many years of sacrificial fast

before the weather turns cold
wanting the summer to come again
with many of my family sailing the ocean
and land in bermuda upon the velvet sand
walk the streets of that magical land
laugh and cry holding my daughter's hand
sit and marvel at blessings so many
see the value of lessons a'plenty
feel love flow from heart to heart
been a long journey since the start
However long the night, the dawn will break.

been a long journey from the start
seems as if my bones have walked
a thousand miles
with a tear in my eye...
the back of my mind
where they rest
almost pouring out today
blame it on Eve
Where's my relief?

perhaps a lobotomy is what I need
fixed thought
unrealistic demands
placed upon a heart
who only wants to hold the hand
of my love
still I truck
down the street with no direction at all
knowing inside our time is small
and aching to feel
one more moment that's real
inside the madness of a rambling poet
I have decided not to use any signature at all... until I find one so revoltingly disgusting that it offends all who read.
