Particularly at 1:35. Innocuous-looking bait, but do take note of the hooks...

I think that input needs to come from all sides (posters and moderators).
I think that these rules:Rule 1)Privacy
Do not post sensitive information: i.e. Phone numbers and home addresses.
Rule 2) Conduct
No insults or slanderous libel. Be nice to each other. We reserve the right to edit abusive insults out of your posts. Do not post any content about another user that could be considered untrue, slanderous libel or defamation of character.
Rule 3)Trolling
No trouble making, people who persistently try to cause arguments by means of trolling will be contacted by a moderator.
...are rules that are pretty clear to me.
But where is it broken?

Are you talking about the rules or the enforcement of such? Two different things...the rules on pof have always been clear. The rules on this site seem clear to me. Enforcement is subject to interpretation...hence one of the reasons why I started this thread. This thread was an attempt to answer why some posts were getting deleted. To address where the breakdown in communication was occurring.
As for what constitutes an insult...I would say the ultimate insult is a bare-faced lie, you know, when someone trusts in their faith in you but you return that trust by insulting their intelligence - it's not nice, it's really frustrating and annoying to realise you've been abused...your trust, faith and to know that that someone who pays such great lip service to integrity and honesty.. and expects you to behave a certain way according to their expectations of you doesn't actually practise what they preach!!
I think calling someone a name constitutes as an insult. If you have not done this then feel free to move on with a clear conscience and know that you must be a victim.
I would imagine that if someone feels insulted they would afford the courtesy to the insulter of informing them why they feel that way..but I think that would incur a black mark against your name on the POF forums because you shouldn't have oughtn't to have responded to a flamebaiter or to have fed a troll.
I think freedom of speech needs to be exercised in such a way that victims are allowed their right to reply without being accused of being in the wrong for defending themselves.
We are not on pof. We are on this site. More freedom requires more self-moderation. What is your reason for being here?
The last person I actively insulted was Saddle_Tramp...but ..incredibly (to me) I've been accused of being insulting merely because I didn't agree with someone else e.g. Moonbat, I didn't agree with that fake because I knew they weren't speaking the truth and I knew in my heart they didn't understand where I was coming from..
They didn't understand where you were coming from so they weren't speaking to your subjective truth and that makes them a fake? I think calling someone a "fake" is an insult...how did you feel when you were accused of being a sock-puppet?
I was also recently accused of deliberately trolling someone (his words) all the time, when such an action on my part would have genuinely been the furthest thing from my mind...
I think the definition of trolling needs to be clarified.
Maybe some people on here want us to conform too much to a kind of behaviour which goes against our actual morals...is that fair of them?
Are you saying you have an objection to the rules? Which ones?
There's something very messed up going on on this forum right now and it's not very nice to witness according to this author's point of view.
And what is that "something"?

Me too...all I know so far is that a troll is not a noun, it's a verb!!
troll v., n.
1. [From the Usenet group alt.folklore.urban] To utter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or, the post itself. Derives from the phrase "trolling for newbies" which in turn comes from mainstream "trolling", a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The well-constructed troll is a post that induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves look even more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying to the more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberate troll. If you don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it.
2. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll."
3. [Berkeley] Computer lab monitor. A popular campus job for CS students. Duties include helping newbies and ensuring that lab policies are followed. Probably so-called because it involves lurking in dark cavelike corners.
Some people claim that the troll (sense 1) is properly a narrower category than flame bait, that a troll is categorized by containing some assertion that is wrong but not overtly controversial.
