The israeli/palestinian conflict has been going on for hundreds of years..no one will be able to get them to accede /agree...what we need is someone who understands both sides, and gets them to compromise in a way that neither lose face...and you will never get anyone with that strong of an emotional conviction to give up their beliefs..on either side....

A popular misconception Zange, I suggest you read this link:
http://ifamericansknew.org/history/origin.html
It's all happened in the last 100 years or so, it was around the 1880's that the concept of "Zionism" was first proposed, the Balfour Declaration of 1917, and the Founding of the State of Israel in 1948.

And yet there was "Mass Immigration into Israel, even before the UDI in 1948, they even have a word for it:
Aliyah (Hebrew: עלייה Translit.: Aliya Translated: "ascent") is the immigration of Jews to the Land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael). It is a basic tenet of Zionist ideology, and an important component of Judaism. The opposite action, Jewish emigration from Israel, is referred to as Yerida ("descent").[1] While the return to the Holy Land has been a Jewish aspiration since the Babylonian exile, Jewish immigration to Palestine and later Israel has been continuous since 1882.[2]

And people here are always bleating about "immigrants", imagine more than three times as many immigrants, as there were Palestinians. 3.4 million immigrants, who pushed the existing people off their land, and herded them into refugee camps like Gazza. They then Blockade them, and keep them living in poverty.
I'm not religious, but that doesn't seem like a "harmless" or a good thing to me.
Where are all their religious principles...?
"Thou shalt not steal" :o They stole the land
"Thou shalt not Kill" They killed thousands.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness". They have consistently lied, and ignored UN resolutions
"Thou shalt not 'covet' thy neighbour's Ox"... :? They 'covet' the whole country!
These are their "laws", and yet these "Religious" people have just ignored them.
And all supported, backed, funded, armed by our 'Western' Governments.

Is it any wonder that the muslim extremist hate us...?
We gave them enough reasons to IMO

In my world, there is no good reason for hate....

Everything I have read, and talking to some muslim friends of mine..the muslims and jews have hated each other for a long time..way before the israel/palestine thing...it may have made it worse....

Well I don't know about the hatred between them before 1948, :?
but I suspect you're right about three and a half million turning up and living there, "making it worse"

If Jews "Hated" them. as you say, why did they choose to go and live with them....?? :?: :?

let's rephrase that:

And yet there was "Mass Immigration into Palestine, by Arabs from other countries, attracted by the better life expentancy and wealth of the Jews...

The entire region had many different tribes living there... none of them "owned" the land as far as I can see. Land "ownership" is a fairly modern notion.

I couldn't be arsed to read it all.

Maybe a brief synopsis at the end of each page would be useful.

Oooh good! You'll have figures then..?
Because i think that's just propaganda!
Year Jews Muslims Muslim Percentage
1946 ...608.2 ....1,076.8 ....58.35%
1950 ..1,203.0 ....116.1 ...........8.80%
1972 ..2,752.7 ....360.6 ...........11.58%
1995 ..4,522.3 ....811.2 ...........15.21%
2000 ..4,955.4 ....970.0 ...........16.73%

The Israelis have quite strict immigration laws in place, to prevent exactly what you're suggesting, from happening.

Many of them indeed "owned" the land, there where many absentee landlords in Cairo quite happily selling land to the Jews at inflated prices, and when they, the Jews, made the land more productive, they, the Arabs wanted it back... Fkn cheek if ye ask me... And btw, one of Arafats uncles was one of those Arabs who was quite happy to sell land to the Jews... Another was quite happily sitting in Berlin drinkin tea wi his mate Hitler, and when he was not, he was inciting racial hatred and busily forming his Muslim SS...

This look familiar?...

The actions of Israel are a glowing example of why I think that religion causes problems.
The country was founded on religious beliefs, in 1948
Rather than go over it all again, for those interested, I go by the facts supplied by these Jews,
http://ifamericansknew.org/history/origin.html
who seem very fair in their view of what happened, and what a terrible injustice it continues to be.
If ever there was an example of the worst excesses of "State Religion",
Israel, with it's 'apartheid' racist policies is it.

And as long as our and the US' Governments support this disgraceful antithesis of 'civilisation', the muslims will continue to distrust the so called 'civilised' western (christian) countries.

You're entitled to your views Tramp, but they are in a minority.
The UN has issued some 160 Resolutions against Israel, mainly about their illegal settlements and occupation of territories..

When I see all those nodding, bearded Orthodox Jews, at the "Wailing Wall", I don't feel any "respect".
The whole thing is superstitious nonsense, but people are dying for these beliefs.
On a logical note, if God is "Omnipotent" as they all seem to believe,
why did all three religions start in the same place...?
Why didn't God make himself known to people all over the Earth...?
Just a thought.... :?
