As a matter of fact, that was the ironic joke made by Jon Stewart himself...The GoP should indeed pay Fox for the fine propaganda work that it does...

But of course, that's not quite how it works. To maintain the "appearance" of distance from your media arm, you have to keep a safe distance. (LMAO)

Oops.

It's a much shorter distance on the chalkboard however.

It is indeed the GOP that is bought and paid for, as that is how you control the governmental process in the "plutonomy/corporatocracy" of today.

But once again, it puts the unintentional irony of this whole thread into sharp focus.

According to Andrew Breithart, a liberal bias has become so ingrained in the global media that conservatives must fight hard to challenge it effectively ...\

His personal goal is to "break down this politically correct paradigm" which limits what views might be held/upholded or put under the duress of being examined with bias and withheld from being discussed openly

..what do you think?

Trans. "I am a wingut...reality does not conform to my delusions. This angers and ENRAGES me enough to make me want to shoot someone (and it tends to happen during Democratic presidencies for some reason)...who's with me?"

Andrew Breithart probably can't even spell BBC anyway.

^^^"The plot thickens".......
Scorpio, you may be unaware of this, but the BBC is a publicly-funded, but independent organisation, they provide high quality programs, free of adverts. I genuinely don't know if you have comparable organisations there...?

They are able to criticise large commercial organisations, objectively, without fear of losing advertising revenue.
They are able to provide consumer oriented type programs, where they compare products, and see if they meet their advertising claims.
They are also able to criticise Governments. The relationship between the BBC, and the previous (Labour) government, was "frosty" because of just that criticism. (They were probably disappointed, like many people were, that the Labour Government weren't "left-leaning" enough! )

Ideologically, the "free-market" conservatives, have always been opposed to the percieved "advantage" public funding gives the BBC over it's commercial rivals.

So, trying to be completely objective here, I would expect there to be a "left-wing" bias within the BBC.
Just as I would expect there to be, within workers in other public sector organisations; health, social services, etc.

The people who feel ideologically driven to work in the "public services", tend to be "left-leaning" (HUGE Sweeping generalisation, I know, but you get the gist...?)

From a "conservative", 'free-market' perspective, independent, but publicly funded, National TV Channel(s), are seen as a "vaguely socialist" ideal..

I think the BBC is well aware of these "unwritten, unacknowledged" tendencies within tory governments and circles, and the above story shows that they are prepared to be used as a "vehicle" for the tory Government, to "sell" their savage cuts to "the welfare state", (another ideological 'anomaly' for them) to the public.
It shows them to be frightened about their own funding,
and conspiring to be more "right-leaning", and to put a more "acceptable face to the cuts"

The BBC know full-well, that their funding will be cut, unless they cooperate.
(See "Vichy France")

To summarise, (and back on topic), I don't think the BBC is a valid example of "the liberal bias in the media", because of it's unique position (In this country anyway).

Both stories are from the Daily Mail, a notoriously Right-Wing newspaper.
If you google the owners, you'll see why.

This just shows that "the media", (including the BBC) will do whatever their "paymasters" tell them to do.
(Whoever that may be)
If you want to find the "bias", follow the money......
:snooty:
