Cheers guys!!! :) I'm well chuffed with it!!! The back of the cake is the cake ... & the tyres & grenades are made from icing. The cab is cardboard & comes off the wheels so cake can be cut ... the soldier is an action man with his head pulled off (is it wrong I got great pleasure?! ) ...& redone in icing to look somewhat like birthday boy.

Here's a dead cute one Storm that is far easier!!! :P (I didn't make this)

That is also a great cake, but my son is a driver so I think your cake is more apt..even though I will get myself in a right mess..I have not made novelty cakes since the kids were little ( I don't think thunder birds 2 and power rangers would be appreciated any more)..But thanks for the instructions..I have four weeks to get it right :?

Wow that is quite an effort. In total how many hours do you think it took? and what were the tricky bits and pitfalls you would differently next time?

I think we need a cookery section so we can all show off. I love doing pies, various breads, and really cheap eating on a budget soups and dinners from natural ingredients that you can get for real cheap or free like nettles.

It would be great to see all the others and what they can do also Come on girls lets show these fellas that the greatest Chefs are not men :D

Well done Lily :P

Lily luv, that is bloomin' brilliant!

Well done you, I can't wait to see it in real life.

You don't half get a sense of achievement don't you when you have done something like that?

I have to say you're a natural at it........you have found your mission in life. :D
We might think a little differently, but we got a lot in common you and me, we're just like you..............................................only prettier!

Ah right.

It's one oblong cake board with cake on sitting flush - that's standing on little baked bean tins over the big board. Big board is covered with edible glue & brown sugar to look like sand.
I got camouflage shoelaces to edge the bottom board! The cab is just one piece of cardboard bent to make front & two sides & the windows cut out. Painted it all before cutting it so I used the left over cardboard to make the bumper. Headlights are plasticine. I cut a semi circle out either sides of the cab & glued on two bits of cardboard to make the mudguards, they sit on the tyres then & the cab just leans on cake. Can remove it then. Attached pic I used for reference.

HTH lol

Exceptional ... the only pitfall is it's HUUUUUGE!!! I shouldn't have took on something so mammoth - but love a challenge so really enjoyed it :D There are twelve large Battenburg cakes under that tarpaulin lol  it weighs a ton! Oh, & get a craft knife, don't use a stanley knife OOooowww!!! ...

I'm dead into cooking at mo so I'm interested!
